BY PAUL O’SULLIVAN: Twelve Marching Bands brought a riot of colour and pageant to Donegal Town on Sunday last for the Ulster Marching Band competition.
The town overflowed to capacity as band members with their families descended en masse bringing music and street drama on a normally easy going sleepy Sunday afternoon.
The local Donegal Town Community band were particularlyt pleased coming in 3rd overall and winning 1st place in the music category.
The overall winners were veteran competitors St Brigid’s Band Jonesboro, Co. Armagh while St Catherine’s Killybegs came in 3rd in Category B.
The event was sponsored and organised by the Abbey Hotel. Move your cursor over the picture to see captions.
