A new Irish junior record for Mark English Letterkenny in Belgium tonight winning in 1. 47.09 erasing the old mark set in 1996 in Sydney by James Nolan a time of 1.47.55, writes Patsy McGonalge.
It is also a new Donegal senior record.
Elsewhere earlier today John Kelly Finn Valley set a new Celtic record winning the Celtic Games shot at 17.56 a record that had stood to Sean Breathnach ,Galway for 17 years . Victories in the Celtic games also for Kate Mc Gowan ,Tirconnaill, hurdles,; Fellan Mc Guigan ,Finn Valley, hammer; and Blaithnaid Patton Finn Valley in high jump.
