Dublin player Diarmuid Connolly will be available for Sunday week’s All-Ireland SFC final against Kerry after having the red card he picked up against Donegal in the semi-final overturned following an appeal to the Central Hearings Committee.
Connolly was shown a straight red card by referee Maurice Deegan after clashing with Donegal’s Marty Boyle in the second half of last month’s encounter at HQ.
He was seen to strike Boyle in the face during the semi-final.
But the St Vincent’s player produced what was called ‘new video evidence’ went in front of the CHC at Croke Park on Monday night.
He was facing a four-week suspension which would have ruled him out of the clash with Kerry.
Anyone up here surprised?
