U21 B Championship semi –final.

Letterkenny Gaels 3.14

Milford 1.04

Letterkenny Gaels have reached their first ever U21 final when they comprehensively defeated pre match favourites Milford at O’Donnell Park on Tuesday evening last.

Gaels started well with a goal from Conor Mc Brearty in the opening minute. With the wind assisting Gaels they notched another 8 points by half time Gerard Gibbon( 0.3) Colm O Breslin (0.1) Mc Brearty (0.3) and a great individual effort from full back Ciaran Lynch.

Milford were unable to register a score due to the strong defensive display from the Cannon brothers and the industrious Mikey Harte.

With the wind settling in the second half Milford improved, however ace forward Mc Brearty killed the game as a contest when he notched a second goal early in the half.

Christy Mc Cafferty and Chippy Barrett continued to work hard for Milford and were rewarded with a number of scores.

Gaels continued to dominate with further scores from the elusive McBrearty(0.2) O’ Breslin( 0.2) and Erin Bradley. Bradley and TJ Eviston exchanged goals at either end before the referee Sean McLaughlin blew for time.

Gaels had good performances all over the field, Strong at the back, a hard working midfield and a lively attack. Hopefully this will lead the club to improved results at adult level.

On this display Gaels will be serious contenders in the final when they play the winners of Carndonagh or St Nauls
