GAA: LETTERKENNY GAELS NOTES

The U21s advanced to the Final of the U21 B championship on Tuesday evening last when they defeated Milford in O’Donnell Pk. Final Score was 3.14 to 1.4. They will play the winners of Carndonagh or St Nauls in the final. The minors travelled to Termon on Friday evening for the Minor championship quarter final and came away with a good win (3.13 to 1.10). They play Buncrana in the Northern semi final in Scarvey on Friday evening. Throw Inn at 6pm. The seniors and reserves had league games at home to Na Rossa on Saturday evening. The reserves had a good win (2.9 to 1.4) and the senior drew  on a sore of 2.8 to 1.11. The seniors turn their attention to the championship again this weekend when they play Downings in the playoff. Throw in 6.30pm at Moyle Park in Milford.   The U15s were defeated by Naomh Colmcille at Newtown in the semi final of the championship on Sunday morning last. Final Score was 1.8 to 0.14. Thanks to Charlie, Pat, James and the panel for all their hard work throughout the season.Gaels U8 hurlers travelled to Aodh Rua, Ballyshannon on Sunday for their monthly blitz and returned home undefeated in four matches. The boys and girls have not been beaten this year! Well done to all players and coaches!

U12 hurlers finished their league campaign at home to Buncrana last Thursday. The boys and girls all battled hard against an impressive team. This week Gaels meet Aodh Rua in the “C” final at Páirc na Gaeil on Thursday. Come along and support the team. Training on Tuesday 6.30pm.

Congratulations to Shay Doherty who came fifth in the U12 county skills competition held in Páirc na Gaeil on Sunday evening. Well done also to Peter O’ Donnell and Úna Quinn who represented Gaels. The competition was won by Dylan Duffy, Buncrana.

U13 gaelic team recorded a victory away to Downings in the league. Training on Wednesday at 6.30pm.

Congratulations to our club Secretary Jim McGlynn who has been recently elected as Treasurer of the County Board. A Great honour for the club as this is our first member on the county executive.

The club are holding their Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday September 25th. The day will include a Barbecue, athletics, Novelty and many fun events.  Something for all the family.Further information will be available next week.   Check our website letterkennygaels.Donegal.gaa.ie for all details on training times for all ages and all the latest news. Lotto results for weekending the 11th September No’s drawn were 9,14,17,22. Match 3 winner was Noreen McGlynn 20 Muckish Ave, Letterkenny.Jackpot next week is 1,200 Euro.
