RNLI Fundraising, Downings – Carrigart Branch
The 2nd Annual Mulroy Angling Competition took place on Saturday 27th August last and many thanks to all anglers, sponsors and skippers who once again made this a very enjoyable afternoon’s entertainment. Once again over €1,000 was raised during this event and we are indebted to all for their valuable contribution to the RNLI.
Another date for the diary is the Annual Golf Competition which takes place at the Rosapenna Golf Resort on Saturday next, 24th September and the time Sheet for that event is available at (087) 2477595 at weekends or on (074) 9155965. This will be a Singles Stableford event for both ladies and gents and the entry fee of €30 will also ensure that you get a wonderful buffet supper in the Rosapenna Golf Pavilion at 9pm after which there will be the Presentation of Prizes. Hopefully Hurricane Katia will have abated by then and we will have weather which we are more accustomed to for September.
We are also indebted to Portsalon Golf Club for their support and a Dance will be held in the Clubhouse on Friday night 30th September and music on the night will be provided by the ever popular band, No Fences’. A huge thank you is also extended to Captain of Portsalon Golf Club, Mr. Donal Callaghan and the members there for the very generous donation of €1,000 which was raised during his Captain’s Day in August. A wonderful days golf and a great nights fun was had by all and which apparently lasted well into the wee small hours; we hope to have a similar night on 30th September and look forward to a repeat performance.
