PARKING CHAOS SET TO END AT LYIT

THE annual complaints from residents in Letterkenny as LYIT begins to fill up again with students – and begin parking almost everywhere – may not repeated next year if plans for new car parking facilities get the go-ahead.

Donegaldaily.com has learned that the campus will submit a formal planning application next month for a massive car park opposite the facility – on lands purchased earlier this year.

The news comes as LYIT celebrate 40 years.

The number of students is expected to increase at the Letterkenny and Killybegs sites to more than 3,750 in the next two years.

The student body is worth an astonishing €30M to the county economy each year.
