Dublin midfielder Denis Bastick has paid tribute to Donegal – for the fight they put up in the All-Ireland semi-final last month.
Speaking ahead of the All-Ireland final clash with Kerry this weekend the Templeogue star certainly wasn’t interested in slagging off the Jim McGuinness’s side.
“It was a bit unusual I suppose. Anyone you talk to has their own views on it, but it definitely was one of the strangest games I have played in,” he said.
“Definitely Donegal were very good and we were under pressure right until the end, so I suppose we were just happy with the win.
“We had watched Donegal before the match and we knew that was their style and what was working for them and did work for them up to that. I think we were expecting that kind of a game.”
