The chairman of the GAA club who have helped co-ordinate the search for missing Kelly Jones has said it is a miracle that she has been found.

Denis Ellis, of Naomh Columba told Donegaldaily.com that he was delighted the 41 year old backpacker had been found alive.

“I think most people thought that Kelly might not be found alive and you couldn’t blame them.

“Four days is a long time to be out without food or water. It’s nothing short of a miracle that she has been found alive and safe and well,” he said.

Mr Ellis’ club have been at the heart of the search for Ms Jones providing soup and sandwiches and a meeting place for all searchers.

He paid tribute to all those involved in the search and wished Ms Jones well for the future.

“all those who have taken part in the search including the Donegal Mountain Rescue and other search groups have been terrific.

“They never gave up and always believed that she would be found. Now that she has been we are all just so relived and delighted at the same time,” he said.
