ROSAPENNA NOTES

The Starters Cup held over the Old Tom Morris Links

on Sunday the 25th was won by Michael Gallagher Jnr 7 with 41 pts.
Runner up was Garvin Toye 20 with 39 pts,
the gross winner was Seimi Connor 6 with
34 gross pts. Third place was Shane Doherty 19
with 38 pts.
 
Congratulations to Shane Doherty who won the 2011
Golfer of the Year with a total of 228 pts from Michael
Gallagher Jnr on 226 pts.
This was the best six rounds returned during the main playing

season and proved to be a very close contest.

Well done to Frank Casey Jnr 4 and Seamus Herraghty 13 who won 
the 2011 Club Doubles Matchplay on Monday evening beating 
Patrick Doherty 16 & Danny Gallagher 17 in the final 4&3
over the Old Tom Morris Links.

Good Luck to our Donegal League team who travel to Portsalon this Sunday the 2nd Oct for the second leg of the 2011 Donegal League Final.

Rosapenna lead 4-1 going into the return leg with the first match teeing off at 11.30am this Sunday. All members of the panel are asked to travel on the day to support the Rosapenna team.

Members must book a tee time on a Saturday & Sunday to avoid disappointment and to allow the first tee to operate efficiently.

Cutting in at the 10th tee on the Old Links is strictly not permitted at any time at weekends.

Tee times can be booked via the Pavilion Golf Shop between 8am & 4pm everyday.

The Sandy Hills Links is strictly green fee only and all players must check in with the Pavilion Golf Shop before play.

The Pavilion Restaurant is open every Saturday & Sunday night.

A new Sunday night set menu will be available from this Sunday from 4.30pm – 8.00pm with two courses for 20e, three courses for 25e.

The annual golf classic in Aid of Niall Mellon Township Trust will take place on the Sandy Hills Links at Rosapenna this Saturday October 1st at €100 per Team.

The format is 4-Ball Scramble (any combination). Time sheet in operation. Please contact Garvin Toye on 087-2256-592.

There will be a club presentation of all outstanding prizes this Saturday night at 7.30pm in the Pavilion, all prizes winners are encoraged to attend.

There will be a regular club competition on the Old Tom Morris Links on Sunday the 2nd & Sunday 9th of October.

The Gents Captains Weekend to Ballyliffin G.C will take place on Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th October.

The weekend includes one round of golf on each links on Sat & Sun with dinner, bed & breakfast in the Ballyliffin Hotel. The total cost to include prizes for both days is 120e per player.

Names are being taken by Frank Jnr in the Pavilion Golf Shop secured with a deposit of 50e per player. The 70e balance must be paid on Saturday the 8th before the golf.

Tee times – Saturday 8th Glashedy Links from 12.50, Sunday 9th Old Links from 13.00.

PGA Professional Noel Callan is available for lessons at the Rosapenna Practice Ground every Thursday and selected other days by appointment, all enquires can be made by contacting Noel directly on 0044 7789 157654.
