ANGER AS ‘RIGHT OF WAY’ IS BLOCKED

LOCAL people are planning to remove rubble which has mysteriously appeared on an ancient right of way in Fanad.

The boulders and gravel appeared at the old Portsalon Hotel earlier this week.

The debris now blocks an ancient access road and pathway which allowed visitors and locals alike to reach the beach at Portsalon Pier.

The owners of the nearby property live overseas.

Today one local resident revealed that boulders and gravel had been placed across the same road around 30 years ago, but that this had been removed again within a day.

“Let’s just say that this debris won’t be here much longer,” he said.

“This is an ancient right of way and there’s plenty of people around here who can be witnesses to that.”
