October 3, 2011

A FORMER Donegal county star has been fined for failing to have a drinks license at his well-known pub.

Tommy Ryan was fined €1,250 at Letterkenny court today in an action brought by the State on behalf of the Revenue.

A Customs investigator told the court that he and another officer had visited the Village Court pub in Kilmacrennan on September 10th last year where they had bought a whiskey and a coke.

Mr Ryan did not have a license at that time, the court heard.

Judge Paul Kelly was told that Ryan had admitted the offence when interviewed by Customs officers.
