PETROL WARS AS TESCO APPLY FOR FILLING STATION

LETTERKENNY’S TESCO store has applied for planning permission for a new petrol station in Letterkenny.

The four-island station would be located at the former Tinneys coal depot if permission is granted.

Local businessman Eddie Tobin, who already owns a nearby filling station, had previously objected to plans for a new junction on the Port Road site, claiming it would hit traffic in the area.

The application comes just a month after Tony Kelly received planning permission for a petrol station at Paddy Harte Road, close to Century Cinemas.
