DONEGAL DAD GETS THE ‘GIRLY’ TREATMENT FOR CHARITY

HE’S best friends with Celtic and Rangers stars and has buddies in both camps at Liverpool and Manchester United – but Donegal dad-of-three Michael Clarke is going into a definite camp to raise cash for charity…the girly camp!

The 36-year-old from Carrigans was no slouch on a football field himself, having played at reserve level in Scotland.

And the Scots-born businessman features regularly on Legends teams for both the Hoops and Liverpool…as well as Ireland and Scotland!

Now he’s set to tackle a range of ‘girly’ makeovers to raise money for the Donegal Hospice and the Oncology Unit of Letterkenny General Hospital.

The businessman will get his legs waxed (ouch), his nails done – and several other ‘girly’ (painful) treatments as yet to be announced.

One of the organisers Sharon McGinley told donegaldaily.com: “I have helped to raise money for charity many times and there is no doubt that Michael is the bravest man yet to help out!”

And people who make donations have a chance to land some great prizes…including signed shirts from some of the greats of football across the water.

Said Sharon: “Over the next couple of weeks we will be running Live auctions for items donated.  Every cent will be going to the two charities.

“We have hotel breaks at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Concert and Hotel break at the Allingham Arms, Signed Football shirts that will be personalised to the winning bidders from Paul McGrath (ex Man Utd, Aston Villa & Ireland Legend), Billy McNeill (ex Celtic Lisbon Lion Legend), Ally McCoist (ex Rangers Legend and current Rangers manager) and Ian Rush (ex Liverpool Legend)..pictured with Michael left.

“We also have vouchers for free cake creation, hair styles, spa treatments, beauty treatments and a voucher for a full year’s free Nail painting for a lucky lady.”

Donegaldaily.com is getting right behind this great event. The full details of our event are all contained on the website www.goinggirly4charity.com.
