The body of a man found off the coast of Co Donegal on Monday has been identified as that of a person missing from his Co Derry home since last Tuesday.

Gregory ‘Bolt’ Burns, 37, (right) had last been seen in the Carnmoney Road area of Eglinton at 7pm on the evening he went missing.

According to the PSNI, who had been investigating the disappearance, Mr Burns’ body was recovered by gardaí after it washed up in the Greencastle area.

A post mortem is due to be carried out on Wednesday, but the death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
