Under 8 training has moved to the indoors for the winter and will take place at 11am on Saturday in Dungloe. U-12 training will also move indoor in Dungloe on a Saturday at 12.

U12 Training for the 2012 season will commence in the Dungloe gym on Tuesday 1st November from 7 to 8pm. This age group applies to all players born in 2000 and 2001. A nightly hall fee of €2 will be payable by each player.

The Seniors recorded an important win as they push for promotion when they defeated Urris at the Banks on Sunday last. A close first half but the second half saw a greater hunger and fitness as the final score was 1-13 to 1-5. This weekend sees both the reserves and seniors travel to Newtown on Saturday with Reserves throwing in at 3pm and Seniors at 4:30pm. A win for the Seniors would mean promotion so a large support would be appreciated in a difficult game away from home.

There was an excellent Minor board meeting last Friday night. Dates to note for the minor board are: Underage Presentation on Sunday 13th November at the Banks, Minor Board AGM on Sunday 20th November. We are looking for new and old managers to put their names forwards to get involved in the underage teams and as part of that process we are asking all names and nominations for managers to be with Gary Boyle on Thursday 17th November.

Beidh babhta ceannais réigiúnach de Scór na nÓg ar siúl i Aislann Rann na Feirste ar an 28ú den mhí seo. Beidh na himeachtaí ag tosú ar 7:30 i.n. €5 ar an doras. Is é seo an chéad uair de fó chumann Naomh Muire na babhtaí ceannais réigiúnach a bheith acu le fada an lá. Bheadh muid buíoch daoibh achan tacaíocht a thig libh a thabhairt de na páistí a rinne iarracht mhór fáil an fhad seo.

The regional finals of Scor na nOg takes place in Aislann Rann na Feirste on Friday 28th October. Starting time for the events is 7:30pm. Taille 5 euro. This is the first time for the club to host a regional finals for a long number of years and good support would be appreciated as we have a young but talented contingent of participants in this years events.

The next night of fundraising is the Farewell Gig if the Fly-bys in Bonner’s Bar, Mullaghduff on Sunday October 30th. This is a joint Fly-bys and Naomh Mhuire Night which is sadly the final night of the popular Fly-Bys before Vinny Gallagher departs for Australia seeking out a solo career in the industry.

The Club are organising a Scrap Saturday on Saturday Nov 5th. This is where we ask all from the area to bring along any old scrap metal to the GAA Club and we will separate it before off-loading it to a recognised recycling company. The Club benefits from this and uses the money raised for forthcoming developments such as the building of additional dressing rooms, improved coaching etc. The public who take the scrap down can get rid of metal which is gathering and by doing so are helping the Club and its youth. Details of the items accepted will appear in the notes in the coming weeks but please have Saturday November 5th in your mind as Scrap Saturday.

The Club are seeking out characters and potential Michael Flately’s or Jean Butler’s for a Night of Jigs and Reels which will take place in the early Spring. We are looking for eight Men and eight Ladies who will under-go expert preparation for what should be a great night. Contact any committee member if you are interested or if you wish to nominate a local person.

Lotto details for week 19th October; jackpot 2900 euro. No jackpot winner. There were three match 3 winners – James ‘point’ Gallagher – Mullachdubh. Paul Coyle – Rann na Feirste. Shaun McCafferty – Loch an Luir. Numbers were 2-7-13-17.
