A former Irish soldier now living in Co Donegal has revealed how he helped RUC officers in a gun battle with the IRA – 37 years ago.
Brendan Rohan was a 22-year-old officer when he took part in an unauthorised late-night sortie across the border, which ended with him fighting alongside two RUC constables…and using their machinegun to fire back at the Provos.
