Finn Valley Athletics Club began life as an athletic club following a meeting in Jackson’s Hotel in 1971.

This year the club celebrates 40 years with a Black Tie dinner event again back in Jackson’s on Friday week November 18th.

Tickets are available from a number of club contacts including Annmarie McGeehin, Dermot Mc Granaghan 0872682856,  Kieran Carlin 0868048440, Rosaleen McGonagle 0861010566 and Bridgeen Doherty.

Finn Valley, which only weeks ago opened the first Berlin Blue track at their centre in Stranorlar, have in the intervening years since those humble beginnings when athletic activity centred in the local Mac Cumhaill Park posted numerous success stories both on and off the track.

Nowadays the club centre is home to numerous sports and educational interests while on the athletic field young and old continue to impact on a weekly basis to good effect. This celebration will give the opportunity to current and former members to come together to mark the occassion and then its on to the 50th.

So it’s a case of chasing down those last few tickets as indications are that many are travelling from overseas…….
