The DONEGAL CAMERATA String Ensemble in INISHOWEN DA CAPO Concert Series, Sunday 13th November 2011, 3pm St. Buadan’s Church, Culdaff.

Da Capo Concert Series Presents its 4th and final concert of 2011 with the DONEGAL CAMERATA String Rarities at St Buadan’s Church, Culdaff. Sunday November 13th at 3pm.Tickets: € 10-Adult, € 8-Concession.

The fourth concert in the Da Capo Concert Series of 2011 features local performers DONEGAL CAMERATA String Ensemble (Orsolya Szabó-Yélamo, Lucia Spacirova, violins; Víctor Yélamo, cello; Michael McGinty, double bass) in a short (1-hour) concert of rarely-hear pieces from familiar names: Rossini, Borodin, L. Mozart.

Created in 2007, the Donegal Camerata is a flexible string ensemble comprised by International professional players based in Donegal.

Since its creation it has appeared in the McGill Summer School, Conwal Church and Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny, Charity Concerts for Donegal Pet Rescue and performances for Donegal County Council and Letterkenny Town Council. Recently they performed at the closing concert of the 400th Anniversary celebrations of Letterkenny.

DA CAPO Concert Series bases its activities on sourcing fine classical players from Ireland and beyond, and promoting concerts in a multitude of styles from the classical canon of the past and of the future.

Several concerts have included Donegal composers, and now for our final concert of 2011 we are very proud to present performers from the county: the Donegal Camerata String Ensemble (2 violins, cello and double bass). Four players, but not a string quartet in the usual sense, explore some of the rarer pieces by familiar composers.

This will be the first appearance of the Donegal Camerata in Inishowen. John McLachlan Tel 9383734 for further information.
