Portsalon Winter Links
The next outing of the Portsalon Winter Links is scheduled for Saturday 12th November.
All members of the Winter Links are reminded that their tee times remain as the previous outing and if you are unable to play please contact the clubhouse. All should also note that if a member misses two consecutive events without notifying the clubhouse, their name will be removed from the time sheet
Results
It was a case of remarkable scoring at Portsalon over the week end. On Saturday Anthony Toland playing off a 19 handicap recorded one of the highest single scores ever with 49 points. On Sunday it was Garret Horkins playing off a 19 handicap recorded 47 points and Saturday’s winner Anthony Toland despite blanking the 18th recorded 45 points, Gross Phillip Durning (7) 34 points, 3rd Pat Barrett (16) 41 points.
Match Play
The winner of the singles match play competition was the seasoned golfing veteran John Strain. John who over the years was always renowned for his match play skills overcame Enda Mc Elhinney to win the 2011 singles match play competition.
Events
On Saturday 12th November it’s the Portsalon Winter Links and Sunday 13th November there will be member’s turkey competitions.and on Wednesday 16th November there is gents open stableford competition. Drop Off
Over the past few weeks members and visitors have been requested to drop off the 2nd, 7th and 9th fairways. As a result the fairways on the selected holes are improving. The fairways will be clearly identified. Please ensure that you drop off on either side of the fairway.
Placing
All members and visitors should note that six inch placing on all fairways only is in operation at Portsalon Golf Club.

Divot Bags
Members and visitors please note that divot bags are now available on entry to the first tee box. Please ensure that you pick up a bag and assist with the course maintenance
