Up to 20,000 people are expected to flock from every corner of the country to Letterkenny next year –  for the annual fesival of Oireachtas na Gaeilge which could be worth more than €6 million to the local economy.

The all Irish cultural festival, Oireachtas na Samhna took place in Kerry last weekend – where it was announced that it will take place in Letterkenny next October….three years after it last came to the town.

Once again Letterkenny’s superb facilities persuaded organisers to return to Co Donegal with An Grianan Theatre, The Regional Cultural Centre, The Letterkenny Institute of Technology, AURA Leisure Centre, along with all the superb hotel facilities.

Up to 20,000 people are expected to attend Oireachtas na Samhna over the period of the week covering Halloween and the mid-term break next autumn.

The last time the festival was in Co Donegal was in 2009.

Our video shows some Sean-Nos dancers at the Mount Errigal Hotel.
