EXCLUSIVE: THIRTY part-time staff at a leading Donegal company may be laid off over Christmas, donegaldaily.com can reveal.

Abbott has eight manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Cork, Donegal, Longford and Sligo. It has commercial operations in Dublin and shared services in Dublin and Westport.  Abbott has been operating in Ireland since 1946.

Insiders have told donegaldaily.com: “Work is slow at the minute and it looks like there may be temporary lay-offs.

“Obviously people are worried that we may lose our jobs – even temporarily – over the Christmas period.”

The local plant manufactures medical devices for diabetics.
