Monday Mash Up: It’s Our Birthday & We’re Throwing a Party!

Monday 28th November

No time for tea this morning.  We have our 3rd birthday party tomorrow and so there is a whole “to-do list” to complete.  From re-arranging the office, to finalising our gifts and ensuring our pink cup-cakes, Cadbury Caramellos and pink lemonade are in production – there’s no time to stop!

We’ve had a really good response from our clients, suppliers and friends to our birthday and we want to say a big THANK YOU for being part of the Media Box journey over the past three years. We hope you will stay around for the ride because we think it’s just going to step up a gear.

We’re also undertaking our post-event evaluation of two major events that the Media Box team managed last week.  We all know that Derry will host the UK City of Culture celebrations in 2013 and on Thursday night, multiple award-winning chef Ian Orr, a native of Derry, outlined to a restaurant full of guests, his plans to secure a Michelin Star by 2013.

Speaking at the launch of Browns Bistro at The Magnet Bar in Culmore Road, Ian along with business partner, Marcus Roulston, outlined the recipe to the Browns brand success.  “Local produce, seasonal ingredients, a highly skilled team and affordability.”

Meanwhile on Saturday night, Kavanagh’s SuperValu in Donegal presented a massive cheque to the Donegal Hospice for €40,100 at the finale event of “Help Us to Help Others” campaign which was launched in May this year.  A clearly overwhelmed Dr. James McDaid, Hospice Chairperson, congratulated all staff members on their achievement and assured them that their money would go directly to patient services.

This week JSB starts preparing for another round of Media Box University as she delivers training in public speaking, radio skills, public relations, twitter marketing, marketing toolkit and social media to enterprise and community groups across Donegal and Tyrone.

And not to forget that it is Monday – which can only mean another episode of The Apprentice – tonight’s show have the nation in tears so grab your tissues.  It is highly emotional and for Joanne, well it just gets too much.  She’s had a good run in since the show started on October 3rd, but has she reached her limit?

Tune in at 10.00pm to watch her Team Spirit put together a charity marketing campaign for Kellogg’s on behalf of Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin. It’s one not to be missed.

And we hope to see as many of you as possible at our 3rd birthday celebrations tomorrow. Be sure to call in any time between 9.30am and 5.30pm.

Until then, keep running in heels!

The Media Box Team. x
