GAA NOTES: NAOMH BRID

The club held a very successful fashion show on Saturday night in. the Central Hotel with over 40 models strutting their stuff with clothes from Donegal Towns finest retail outlets.

Over 140 people came to witness a great night of entertainment and made the show special. Star of the show was undoubtedly “Donna” who surprised all with her choice of clothing and groovy movement on the catwalk.

Entertainment on the night was provided by a terrific up and coming country singer who has performed for audiences in America, a local musician the excellent Dylan Johnston and of course our local band The Rockhill Ramblers who provided the post show entertainment.

The club would like to extend its sincere thanks to the management and staff of the hotel, the organizing/ finance committee, the participating clothing retailers, the hairdressers and make-up artists, the models, those who sponsored spot prizes and our MC for the night Mark Dorrian. A heart felt thanks also goes out to all those who attended and made the night a memorable one for all involved.

The club also launched their 2012 calender on the night too. With pictures of locals as you never seen them before this calender is a must buy. The calender is now available for purchase at the reasonable price of €10.

The club have decided to donate money from every purchase to charity and have chosen STOP, a suicide awareness and prevention organisation as their charity. This is a worthwhile cause so don’t miss out on your purchase as demand is high.

The club extends its appreciation to the sponsors within our new 2012 calendar for their support in this novel venture for the club, also thanks to Margaret Carr Flynn of Ocean FM and Matt Britton of the Donegal Democrat for their coverage of the show and calendar release.

There is an executive meeting taking place on Friday night at 8.30pm in the Clubhouse. All executive members are asked to attend.

Anyone who wishes to have any information included in the club notes should contact Shane Walsh on shanew03@live.ie by 6pm on Monday evening.
