THE woman who died in a tragic incident off Teelin Pier was named today as Noreen Garvey, of Drimnafingle, Kilcar.

Mrs Garvey died when her car went off the pier shortly after 2pm on Friday. Her body was recovered four hours later and a post mortem at Letterkenny General Hospital was completed this afternoon.

Gardai say there are no suspicious circumstances.

The Kilcar community is in mourning after the death of a popular local woman who had connections with the local GAA club.

Removal is from Letterkenny General Hospital today at 6pm, arriving at her home at approximately 8pm.

Removal from home on Monday at 11.30am for Funeral Mass in St Cartha’s Church, Kilcar at 12 noon. Burial will be afterwards in Kilcar Cemetery. House private on the morning of the funeral. Further enquiries should be made to John Carr, Funeral Director.

Today’s U-21 county final between Kilcar and Naomh Conaill which was due to take place at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny has been postponed as a mark of respect to the Garvey family.
