DDTV: VIDEO OF FLOODED DONEGAL RIVER

written by admin December 14, 2011

MOST of the year it’s a stream which rarely gets above a few inches deep, but today a small tributary of the River Lennon became a swollen torrent, bursting its banks and sending millions of gallons of water into the fields.

Our video shows the overflowing stream at Barrack Bridge at Ballyare. Further downstream the Lennon has also burst its banks creating huge lakes in nearby fields.

Farmers have been out overnight moving sheep and cattle to higher groind as the flood waters continue.

Click our video to play.
