SINN FEIN SUPPORT GROWS AS GOVERNMENT PARTIES BATTERED IN LATEST POLL

THE Government parties take a battering in the latest opinion poll to be published in the Sunday Times this weekend as the result of the Budget sinks in.

Support for Taoiseach Enda Kenny is down – with Gerry Adams the most popular political leader.

Just 26% of people are satisfied with the government, down 1o% on the last poll two months ago.

Fine Gael support is down seven points to 30%, while Labour loses four points to 11%.

Sinn Fein is the second most popular party in the country with 21% support – up two points in last time.

Fianna Fáil support is up five to 20% with independents and others up four points, to 18%.

Satisfaction with Enda Kenny is down 14 points to 44%; Eamon Gilmore drops 11 to 35%; Micheál Martin is up four to 40%; while Gerry Adams is down two to 48% – still the highest satisfaction rate for any party leader.
