COLEMAN NOT DROPPED BECAUSE OF LIVERPOOL LINK

EVERTON manager David Moyes has dismissed rumours on Merseyside this weekend that Donegal star Seamus Coleman was dropped from the clash with Norwich on Saturday because of new rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool next month.

“Seamus had a thigh strain,” insisted Moyles today.

His non-inclusion in the match – a 1-1 draw at Goodison came as a surprise – particularly as the Killybegs man had been the players interviewed by the Press in the run-up to the game.

But Moyles said it was an injury – and not the rumoured €7M move to Anfield which led to him being dropped.

Leon Osman’s deft second-half finish rescued a point for Everton as they finally broke Norwich’s resistance.

The hosts dominated throughout and created a series of chances, but it was City who took the lead when Grant Holt turned and shot low into the corner.

Meanwhile another Premier League star with Donegal links is under severe pressure.

Owen Coyle’s Bolton are rooted to the bottom of the table after being beaten 2-0 by Fulham on Saturday.
