TOWN councils in the county have got their budgets all wrapped up in time for Christmas – unlike their counterparts at county level.
Letterkenny town council is the latest to rubber stamp its budget, with a slight increase on last year to €7.6M. Rates will remain unchanged in 2012 and extra money will be spent on marketing the town.
Buncrana town council has taken €100k off its budget and will spend €3.27M next year. Again more money will be spent on promoting tourism to the seaside town.
Bundoran town council has cut 3% off commercial rates.
