TWO DONEGAL SALMON RIVERS TO CLOSE IN 2012

TWO of Donegal’s famous salmon rivers will be closed to anglers next year over fish stock fears.

The Glenna and Glenagannon rivers will not be fished in 2012

The Bungosteen River in the Ballyshannon fishery district, which was closed this year, will re-open to anglers next year – but only on a ‘catch and release’ basis.

More than 80 rivers nationwide will be open for salmon angling throughout the country in 2012.
