GARDAI PUT ON EXTRA NEW YEAR WEEKEND PATROLS

written by admin December 31, 2011

THE head of the Garda Traffic Corps in Co Donegal has warned motorists not to drive this weekend if they are drinking.

Inspector Michael Harrison said he was particularly concerned at motorists who might drive on New Year’s Day having consumed alcohol the night before.

Extra Garda patrols are being arranged to cover this weekend and GoSafe vans will continue to operate at accident blackspots.

New lower drink-driving limits are now in force – and those laws will be enforced this weekend.
