HUNDREDS of pilgrims brought in the New Year by attending a religious festival in Co Donegal last night.

The annual Doon Well celebrations began at St Columba’s Chapel in Termon at 8pm with a Holy Hour.

A Vigil Mass followed at 9pm.

And at 10.30pm pilgrims joined a procession from the chapel to Doon Well for a Midnight Rosary.

Camera crews from the BBC2 ‘This World’ series filmed the event for a forthcoming series focusing on faith.
