STORM RIPS ROOF OFF THATCHED HOLIDAY COTTAGE

THEY were once thatched – but no more!

The famous thatched cottages on Cruit Island in west Donegal have had their tops well and truly balded by today’s hurricane-style storm.

The cottages – let out as holiday homes – will need thousands of euro worth of repairs.
