WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN – IRELAND’S FIRST BABY HAS HER ROOTS IN DONEGAL!

Dublin may have claimed her as their own.

But it transpires that the woman who gave birth to the first baby of the year is in fact a Donegal woman.

Catriona Mitchell, who lives in Churchtown in Dublin, received huge attention when she gave birth to baby girl Amelie Rose just 35 seconds after midnight at Dublin’s Rotunda Hospital on January 1st.

Catriona (nee McConnellogue) is originally from Muff but has been living in Dublin for a number of years.

She is the daughter of proud new grandparents Rose and Packie McConnellegue from Glackmore, Muff.

Catriona, along with husband Neil, was pictured looking absolutely stunning shortly after she gave birth.

We wish both parents, grandparents and little Amelie Rose every health and happiness for the future.
