THE Irish Times’ online editor has written a great piece today about our view as a nation of RTE – and its 50 years in business.

And Hugh Linehan reminds readers that in 1997 voters in Donegal South West elected a TD who campaigned to keep deflectors so that people could keep seeing the BBC.

In this modern age of satellites and Sky (and other boxes of course) it makes for a great read.
