DONEGAL PRIEST GIVES GOVERNMENT ADVICE ON CHRISTMAS CARDS AND FASHION!

A well-known Donegal priest has suggested his own unique ways of cutting down on the Government’s expenditure.

In a letter to today’s Irish Times, Fr Pat O’Hagan of Moville said TDs need to start by leaving eachother off their Christmas card lists!

“€10,000 (give or take) for Christmas cards sent recently by members of the Oireachtas, at taxpayers’ expense, may not seem like much in these days where we’ve become used to talking in billions and trillions (Front page, January 11th), but perhaps this is something the Ceann Comhairle could tackle in his proposed reforms.”

Fr O’Hagan also gave his rather unique slant on why Irish people, including himself, need to forget about fashion in the Dail.

“I don’t care how our TDs and Senators dress. Does anyone, apart from the Ceann Comhairle?” he said.
