DONEGAL ANIMAL GROUP WELCOMES LARGEST FAMILY OF RESCUED DONKEYS

It may struggle from day-to-day to find the much needed cash to keep going.

But the Donkey Sanctuary in Raphoe just can’t seem to say ‘no’!

The group is this week “making way” for their biggest ever arrival of new family members.

No less than 10 donkeys will be arriving at the centre on Saturday from Mayo after their elderly owner died.

Another two donkeys are also expected shortly bringing the total number to 12 donkeys to arrive this week.

The sanctuary recently came to the aid of Bobby the Donkey which was found trampled by a bull at outhouses near Fanad Head.

A petition to raise awareness of cruelty to donkeys and to build a statue to ‘Bobby’ has so far gathered more than 1,000 names.
