ONE of County Donegal’s best-known hotels has scooped a top award – from the world’s biggest travel website.

The Station House Hotel in Letterkenny scooped The Travellers’ Choice Award – the highest honour a hotel can receive from the TripAdvisor community.

“It’s based on the reviews and opinions of millions of travellers, and is awarded only to a very select and distinguished group of hotels,” a TripAdvisor spokesman told donegaldaily.com.

The hotel got the gong in the Top Trendiest Hotels in Ireland category – the only one in Co Donegal.

Hotel marketing diector Siobhan Barrett-Doherty told us: “Everyone at the hotel is delighted to win such a distinguished award, especially as it comes from guests who have stayed here.

“We put in a great deal of hard work every day to make sure that all our guests have a wonderful experience of the hotel, of Letterkenny and of the whole county.”
