“I DO, I DO, I DO…” – DONEGAL BRIDES MAKE HISTORY FOR CANCER CHARITIES

Brides of all ages made history last night when they donned their wedding and bridesmaid dresses once again for charity.

Dozens of proud ladies recalled their big day as they turned out at the Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey for what proved to be a very special night.

The event saw brides come together, not just for an evening of nostalgia, but to raise much needed funding for Donegal Action Cancer Care and the breast unit at Letterkenny General Hospital.

As well as tucking into a fantastic meal, the ladies enjoyed a wedding band and swapped stories about their big days from as recently as last year to as far back as almost 40 years ago.

Organisers of the event said they were delighted with the turn-out.

“It was a fantastic night. Those who came along and wore their wedding dresses with pride once again really made it worthwhile.

“Amazingly all the ladies fitted into their dresses which says a lot for them.

“We had a great night and there were some great memories shared. It was fantastic but the most important thing was that some much-needed funds for both charities,” she said.
