IT’S already a favourite holiday spot for Sarah Jessica Parker – now another glamorous Hollywood star says she quite fancies the idea of one day living in Co Donegal.

New York actress Anne Hathaway, 29, might just be torn however; she has relatives in Co Cork too.

The star of the Princess Diaries has been tracing her Irish heritage to both Donegal and Cork.

Said Anne: “On my father’s side, we have relatives all over Cork and Donegal. Ireland is such an amazing country, and I have this little dream in the back of my head that someday I’ll end up living there.

“When I’ve established myself in America, and I don’t need to live near the action, so to speak. If you’re good, the work will come to you. I feel very Irish; maybe that’s why I’ve been so lucky with my career.”

The star is exactly the sort of Irish-American that those behind the Donegal Diaspora Project are hoping to attract to the county.

The organisation launched its outreach programme at a Letterkenny hotel last week.

And this morning a group in Inver launched their own genealogy project hoping to boost the local economy through tourism.
