A Raphoe cameraman was part of the team which picked up an IFTA Award as the best Sports Programme.

Emmett Harte was the man behind the lens as part of Eamon Coughlan’s film – Man On A Mission.

The programme saw the former international runner travel to Kenya to uncover the lasting legacy of Irish brother Colm O’Connell.

Part travelogue, part tribute, the documentary, the documentary brought Coughlan to the modest training camp of Brother Colm as he painstakingly prepares David Rudisha, World 800 Metre Champion, for the London Olympics later this year.

Harte, the son of former TD Paddy Harte and his wife Rosaleen, is well-known in film-making circles throughout the country.

A former pupil of St.Eunan’s Colllege, Harte has been involved in numerous film projects shown on RTE and other channels.
