Donegal County Council is the toast of Ireland after being named ‘Council of the Year.’
The authority received the honour from the Local Authority members Association Awards in Dublin for its Road Safety Campaign.
Among those at the awards to collect the honour was County Manager Seamus Neely and Mayor Noel Bride.
Others who attended on behalf of the council were Road Safety Officer Eamon Brown and NRA Safety officer Stephen Lambert.
Mayor McBride said the fact that 12,000 young people had attended the campaign’s roadshow in the last four years was proof that the message was getting out there.
