DONEGAL MAN SENT FOR TRIAL ON LITANY OF SEX ABUSE CHARGES

A man has appeared at Letterkenny District Court this morning facing 183 sex offence charges.

The man, who cannot be named, is alleged to have committed the offences against several different victims.

The accused, wearing a black shirt and black coat, appeared in court and told Judge Paul Kelly he understood the charges against him.

The attacks are alleged to have happened over the past two decades.

Detective Garda Bosco Gallagher gave evidence in the case.

The man will now be send forward to the next sitting of the Central Criminal Court for hearing.

He was ordered to surrender his passport, continue signing on at a Garda station in Co Donegal and not to make any contact with the victims.
