Sunday 4th March 2012
Second Sunday of Lent
CONGRATULATIONS
We would like to congratulate all the boys and girls from Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal, Scoil Cholmcille and Scoil Naomh Fiachra, Illistrin who received the Sacrament of Confirmation over the last week. We ask you to continue to pray for them, their parents and families. We thank all who prepared the children for this Sacrament.
INVITATION
Letterkenny General Hospital’s annual Interdenominational Service of Remembrance for babies who have died due to Still-Births, Neo-Natal deaths or Miscarriage is being held next Sunday, 11th March at 4 pm in the Church of the Irish Martyrs.
RESPECT
It has been brought to our attention in the last week or so, that items are being removed from loved ones graves, sometimes thrown in the skip, other times taken from the graveyard altogether. This is heartbreaking for the families involved. Please respect the belongings and graves of others. We ask that when attending the graveyards that you are always observant. We also remind you to always lock your car when visiting a graveyard and leave nothing valuable inside. Please keep dogs on leads and when leaving the graveyards please close the gates.
LENTENT RETREAT
There will be a Lenten retreat in the Pastoral Centre Hall on Wednesday 14th March from 7.30 pm to 10 pm led by Fr. Kieran Shorten OFM Cap. The theme of the evening will be “From Good Friday to Easter Sunday – a journey of love”. There will be time for input, conversation, prayer, reflection and celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please phone the Pastoral Centre on 9121853 for further information.
