SEAN MAC CUMHAILL’S NOTES 05/03/12

FIXTURES/RESULTS

 

Football. Our Senior Footballers travelled to Belfast to play Lamh Dhearg. Mac Cumhaills rested players carrying injuries and were slow out of the blocks. At half time they trailed by1-08 to0-03. Some positional switches resulted with two goals from Stephen O Reilly and Benny Mc Loughlin. Other players of note were Tom Reynolds and Noel Quinn. Final score was Lamh Dhearg 2-10 Mac Cumhaills 2-07.Mac Cumhaills finished top of the Table having won four and lost one. They now play Strabane Sigersons in the Semi Final on March 18th. Well done Pat, Mickey and all the lads.

 

Hurling. Congratulations to the Hurlers who beat Castleblaney Hurling with a marvellous display in Mac Cumhaill Park. They won 1-11 to 0-2. This was a very impressive team performance with Gary Browne putting in a Man of the Match display. Scorers were Lee Henderson 0-7, Martin Timony 1-00, Gary Browne, David White, Ger Cunningham and Paul Devlin 0-1 each. Jamsie Donnelly sustained a bad shoulder injury during the match, here’s to a speedy recovery for Jamsie.

 

Under 16’s. In a fixture reschedule, our 16’s travelled to play Burt in Hibernian Park. In a thrilling and highly competitive match, Burt won by the narrowest of margins.Final score was Burt 4-07 Mac Cumhaills 3-09.

 

Third Team. Training for the 3rd team starts this Tue 6th at 8.30. Everybody welcome. Good luck to Anthony Logue who took up the reins as manager this year. For more Details contact Anthony Logue 0876830320.

 

Handball. Hard luck to Mark Marley and Mark Mc Gowan who were beaten in the Ulster Intermediate Mens Doubles Final. The match took place at the Mac Cumhaills handball alley and in the tightest of matches for a very long time, they were pipped by Cavan.Final score was 2-1. Well done on a very fine display lads.

TABLE QUIZ.

 

The Minor Board have organised a table quiz in the golf club on Wed 7th of March at 10.00pm. Please come out and support this event.

 

 

SEAN MAC CUMHAILLS EASTER CAMP 2012

Mac Cumhaills are running the very successfull Easter Camp again this year.It will run from Mon 2nd Aprill till Wed 4th. 10.00 am -2.00pm.Ages from 5-13. Prices are as follows:

Mac Cumhaills Members €25 1st Child, €20 2nd & 3rd Child.

Non Members €30 1st Child,€25 2nd & 3rd Child.

 

Registration for the camp will take place on the 30th Mar 7.30pm – 8.30pm.

DONEGAL V CORK

 

Thanks to all the people who helped out at the match on Sunday. As always everything ran smoothly. Thanks to all. Sadly Seamus Mc Cormack was unable to attend the match but we hope he has a speedy recovery and that he’ll be there cheering Donegal when they take on Armagh.

Congratulations to Mac Cumhaills man Oisin Merritt who travelled to Glasgow for trials with Celtic. Everone from Mac Cumhaills wishes him the very best of luck

 

 

REGISTRATION

Registration is now due for 2012. Juvenile registrations have to be submitted by the end of Feb. ALL Senior players and members must be registered before 31 March 2012. If you are not registered before this date, it will affect your player insurance and your voting rights at the AGM. Please contact Stephen Lynch. Cost of membership is: €70 for Family membership, € 30 for Adults and €10 for children

 

 

 

SCOR

 

There will be an exhibition of underage SCOR in the Villa Rose at 7.30pm this Wed 7th March.This is a non competitive event and participants will be from 5 local National Schools.Scor promotes Irish culture in a meaningful and enjoyable manner. This should be a very entertaining night. Great craic. Not to be missed!!!.
