LYIT TO HOST HIGH-PROFILE DEBATE ON ENTERPRISE AND EMIGRATION

The Letterkenny Institute of Technology’s Law Society is to present a question and answers session on the topics of emigration and enterprise.

These issues go hand in hand, if as a society we can generate an environment in which enterprise can again thrive then hopefully emigration can again take a back seat.

The event will take place on the 8th March 2012 at the LYIT, lecture hall 1104, at 15.30pm and will be hosted by the Law Society President Clare McDonagh.

A distinguished panel will be in attendance including industry leaders, experts and politicians from both sides of the border.

The panel includes Joe McHugh TD, Padraig Mac Lochlainn TD and Senator Jimmy Harte. Also scheduled to appear will be Rose Tierney – a cross border tax consultant, Colm Eastwood MLA and former Mayor of Derry and Michael Margey, head of the department of business studies at LYIT.

The special guests on the day will be pen brothers Ronan and Conor McGarvey, the young entrepreneurs behind Donegal Pens.

An active audience is required for the event to be a success, so members of both the college and the wider public are invited to attend and participate with questions for the panel.

The topics are very emotive and should inspire people to take part; The Law society wants to promote a positive approach to these issues and hope that those participating both on the panel and in the audience will reflect this.

If you would like to submit a question for the panel then email us at lyitlawsociety@gmail.com. We hope that this event will provide a positive platform for civic engagement and that this will result in a successful event for the Law Society, the Institute and Letterkenny. We look forward to seeing you there.
