RITH 2012: RUNNING TIMES ACROSS CO DONEGAL TODAY

Beidh an chéad lá den rith náisiúnta spraoiúil ar son na Gaeilge ar siúl inniu ón Bhun Bheag i nGaoth Dobhair go dtí an Srath Bán i gContae Thír Eoghain.

Is iad na hamannaí agus na ceantracha atá i gceist ná: An Bun Beag 9.00am, Mín an Chladaigh 10.00am, An Fál Carrach 11.20am, Dún Fionnachaidh 12.45pm, An Craoslach 2.00pm, An Tearmann 3.00pm, Cill Mhic Réanáin 3.00pm, Eileastrom 4.00pm, Barr an tsléibhe i Leitir Ceanainn 4.30pm, Príomhshráid Leitir Ceanainn 4.50pm, Ros Géar i Leifear 6.15pm agus cúrsa thart ar An Srath Bán idir 6.45pm agus 7.30pm.

Ba mhaith leis an lucht eagraithe iarraidh ar an mhórphobal teacht amach agus tacaíocht a thabhairt do na reathaithe ó chlubanna áitiúla, scoileanna áitiúla agus choistí áitiúla, de réir mar a théann siad ó bhaile go baile, ag tabhairt an bhaitín, a bhfuil teachtaireacht ón Uachtarán istigh ann mar chuid de Sheachtain na Gaeilge, ó phobal go pobal.

Ba mhaith linn ár leithscéal a ghabháil as aon mhoill ar na bóithre, agus iarraimid ar gach úsáideoir bóthair a bheith tuisceanach inniu ós rud é go mbeidh go leor daoine óga agus páistí ag glacadh páirte sa Rith, agus bheimis buíoch as tiománaithe bheith cúramach agus faicheallach.

Day one of the national Irish language fun-run RITH 2012 will be taking place today from Bunbeg in Gaoth Dobhair to Strabane in Tyrone. The approximate times and routes are as follows: Bunbeg 9.00am, Mín an Chladaigh 10.00am, Falcarragh 11.20am, Dunfanaghey 12.45pm, Creeslough 2.00pm, Termon 3.00pm, Kilmacrennan 3.00pm, Illistrin 4.00pm, Mountaintop Letterkenny 4.30pm, Letterkenny Mainstreet 4.50pm, Rossgier in Lifford 6.15pm and Strabane Town between 6.45 and 7.30pm.

The organisers would like to invite the public to come out and cheer on the relay runners, from local clubs, schools and community organisations, who will pass the baton with a  “Seachtain na Gaeilge” message from the President on to each community and town as it passes through. We wish to apologise for any delay or inconvenience on the roads, and would ask all roadusers to be mindful that many young children will be taking part in the Fun Run along the route today, and we would appreciate due care and consideration.
