KERRY PROVIDE THE ACID TEST FOR DONEGAL’S DEVELOPING TEAM

Canny Kerry will provide Donegal boss Jim McGuinness with the acid test today to see where exactly his team stand ahead of this year’s All Ireland championship.

The county’s senior footballers travelled the length of the country to Fitzgerald Stadium where they will face this year’s All Ireland finalists with a throw-in time of 2.30pm.

Only a small band of dedicated supporters are expected to make the long journey south for the game.

Donegal are hoping to build on last week’s solid performance against Cork which saw the return of the likes of powerhouse Michael Murphy and veteran Colm McFadden.

For their part Kerry will be without some of the biggest names including forwards Colm Cooper and Kieran Donaghy.

But with a team that still boasts the caliber of players including Darren O’Sullivan, Eoin Brosnan and Bryan Sheehan, Kerry remain one of the teams to beat every season.

Donegal goalkeeper Paul Durcan said today that his team are still very much in development.

Just how far that development has come will be known just before 4pm today.
