GAA NOTES: NAOMH BRID

written by Stephen Maguire March 13, 2012

Both our senior and reserve teams will be playing Division 2 football for 2012 after our seniors recored a 0-16 to 0-9 victory over neighbours Aodh Ruadh in the 2011 Division 3 promotion playoff on Friday night in Ballybofey. It didn’t take Naomh Brid long to get going with the lads racing into a 0-7 to 0-1 lead. Aodh Ruadh rallied with some late first half scores but 2 more Naomh Brid points helped the lads to a 0-9 to 0-4 half time lead. The lads fought hard in the second half to withstand an Aodh Ruadh comeback and were rewarded with some fine scoring moves which left them in control at the final whistle on a scoreline of 0-16 to 0-9. It was a great team performance and the lads can now look forward to playing in Division 2 for the year. Many thanks to all supporters who made the trip to Ballybofey to cheer the lads on.

Any club members available to assist Aodh Ruadh with stewarding at the Mayo match on Sunday should report to Conal Gallagher in Aras Aodh Ruadh for 1pm on Sunday.

Congratulations to Dermot Curristan and his wife on the birth of their baby boy last week.

Anybody with any information they wish to have included in the club notes should contact Shane Walsh on shanew03@live.ie by 6pm on Monday evening.
