OTWAY GOLF CLUB NOTES

Although Fr Martin could not physically be present in Otway last Sunday, he sent his blessing, and some beautiful weather, for the 2012 captains drivein, which was much appreciated by all participants.

Captain Noel and Lady Captain Bridgeen kicked off the day in style, and continued a run of captains winning the official launch of their year.

Although the pair were ably assisted by Portsalon Captain Diarmuid Logue and Lady Captain Noreen McConigley, a bit of friendly rivalry appears to have sprung up between the two lady captains, which no doubt will be resumed as their respective years continue.

Congratulations to all four on their victory, and also to the second placed team of Shaun Barrett, Paul Murray and Eamonn O’Kane.

Ann Cullen did her best to urge her team on to the winners enclosure, even putting in from off the green at the 9th, but like so many other teams on the day, just fell short by one birdie !

Well done also to all the ladies (and Kevin) for organising the soup and sandwiches on the day, and we look forward to another sucessfull and enjoyable year at Otway.
